Lawrence Welk Show

Anacani, Singer

AnacaniWith Carmen Miranda-like dance moves to accompany her lovely singing voice, the talented and beautiful Anacani joined the Welk Show in February, 1973, and she has been an audience favorite ever since, on television and in personal appearances all across this country and in Mexico.

Anacani first auditioned for Welk in 1972 at his Escondido resort, shortly after her family emigrated there from Sinola, Mexico. She made her Welk Show debut on the "Salute to Mexico" program in 1973 singing the song "Luna." Lawrence Welk would often refer to her as the Show's "lovely little Anacani." Anacani remained with the show until its end in 1982.

Today, Anacani continues to tour with other Welk Musical Family members regularly from coast to coast, appearing at Bear Creek Farms in Bryant, Indiana, American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA and at resorts such as Harrah's Club in Lake Tahoe. She also performs as a soloist with many symphony orchestras and each year works the telethon in behalf of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene.

Anacani has been married to Rudy Echeverria since 1978 and have a daughter together. They still make their home in Escondido, CA.
