Lawrence Welk's Clarinetist Played With the Ray Noble Band In the 40's

Don BonneeDon Bonnee was a clarinetist on the Lawrence Welk Show from 1959 to 1962, replacing Pete Fountain.

Bonnee was born June 6, 1913. Bonnee played with the Ray Noble band in the 1940's, including on several albums including the "Swinging Briton." He also played with Jack Teagarden in the 1950's. In 1960, he recorded an album called the Don Bonnee Octet on Welk's Dot Records label. After leaving the show, Bonnee was replaced by Mahlon Clark.

Bonnee passed away on March 21, 1994.
