Sandi Griffiths, Singer (1968 - 1980)

Sandi GriffithsSandi Griffiths sang on the Lawrence Welk Show from 1968 to 1980. She auditioned for Mr. Welk in 1967, when he was searching for girl singers to replace the Lennon Sisters, and he thought she had the talent and the perfect 'Girl Next Door' look he was hoping to find.   In 1968, Sandi became a regular part of the Welk television show cast, singing first with Sally and then with Gall Farrell and Mary Lou Metzger. Appearing weekly on national television was only a part of Sandi's work. She kept busy recording for albums, doing commercials and traveling extensively for concert performances.

While she was working on the Welk Show, Sandi married her college sweetheart, Brent Griffiths. Friends and fans watched in delight as they became the proud parents of seven -- six of their own and one adopted son.  She left the show in 1980, deciding that her parental duties outweighed the heavy commitments of her career.

Today, Sandi continues to do concert dates with various Welk stars and is active in the Mormon Church.
