Sally Hart, Singer (1968 - 1972)

 

Clay Hart was a featured performer on the Lawrence Welk Show from 1969 to 1975. Hart was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. After graduating from Amherst College, Hart played in nightclubs where Lawrence Welk discovered his talent in 1969. Hart was 27 years old when he joined the Champagne music makers that year and he stayed with the show until 1975. During his time with the show, he met his wife, Sally Flynn, and they married in 1974.

 

Sally Flynn, also known as Sally Hart, was born in Ontario, OR on July 23, 1946 to a large family of brothers and sisters.  Clay Hart & Sally HartShe yoined the Welk program in 1968 with BYU classmate Sandi Griffiths as part of the Sandi & Sally act where it became one of the most popular musical acts in the show's long history.

 

Sally left in 1972 to pursue a solo career and married Welk guitarist and country singer Clay Hart.  She made numerous television appearances, commercials, and hosted a cooking and home show with Clay.  They also co-owned a keepsack business. Clay and Sally live in Cocoa Beach, FL with their cute pooch.
